BEVEL ANGLE MASTER

All wet stone grinders have 3 variables that need to be accounted for when setting the angle to grind a knife.

1. Grinding Wheel Diameter. (Automatically adjusts to current size and can be locked at that diameter.)

2. Universal Support Bar height. (No need to adjust Universal Support Bar height.)

3. Distance - Knife Jig Handle Stop to Knife Apex. (Adjust Handle Stop on knife jig to suit)

(The Tormek KJ-45 and KJ-140 have fixed stops therefore not suitable. Most other jigs have an Adjustable Handle Stop)

WHAT makes this gauge different to the rest?

By adjusting only 1 variable (Distance - Knife Jig Handle Stop to Knife Apex) the set angle will be achieved even if the knife jig is not self centering. The grind will be slightly different on each side of the knife but the total angle will be accurate.

  • Accurate
  • Easy to use
  • Set gauge to required angle before use
  • Angle increments every 1 degree from 0 to 35 degrees
  • Preset degree increments every 2.5 degrees set with pin
  • Can be used with either Leading Edge or Trailing Edge method
  • Automatically adjusts to grinding wheels from 120 to 500mm dia
  • No need to adjust knife jig support bar height
  • Can be used to set honing angle
  • Can be used to read bevel angle found using Sharpie method
  • Work with any wet stone grinder with knife jig support bar
